Resumo

Objective: To analyze the association of aortic aneurysm and Marfan syndrome. Methods: This study consists of a bibliographic study of integrative review using the online platforms PubMed and LILACS (Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences) as sources of information. The following descriptors were used: aortic aneurysm and Marfan syndrome. We used articles available in Portuguese and English, accessible entirely free of charge, published in the last twenty years. Results: A total of 2994 articles from the PUBMED platform and 61 articles from the LILACS platform were selected. After the selection, applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 20 articles were defined for content refinement. After this stage, 7 articles remained. Final considerations: This review highlighted the importance of the renin-angiotensin system in cardiovascular regulation and related diseases, such as Marfan syndrome and thoracic aortic aneurysms. Continued understanding of the mechanisms underlying these diseases is critical to developing more effective and personalized therapeutic approaches aimed at improving patients' quality of life and reducing serious cardiovascular complications.
